The old adage that your job is only as good as your tools definitely applies to painting projects. Skill is of importance, but low quality materials & tools can easily ruin any project that is done skillfully. Tools that start falling apart mid project or leaving debris behind will leave you frustrated & result in a project that looks like a hack job. Solving that problem is easy if you know what specific tools to use. Grab the products listed below & you will ensure your painting project is frustration free and will deliver pro grade results.
Paint. Good quality paint is worth its weight in gold. My go to as a contractor is Sherwin Williams. They have a product for almost every situation. They even sell car paint!! There is a different function for each paint product. So do your research on what product is right for your project. For example, an enamel is different than wall paint. Enamel will be a more durable paint with different ingredients. This product will hold up better to wear and tear than wall paint will. Some wall paint products will come in a sheen that looks closer to flat, but still washes like a satin essentially giving you an “in between” sheen. While another paint product only comes in a flat or a satin (no in between in that particular product line). So you must research the product specifications.
Purdy is a well name panting supply that many contractors use, for good reason. Quality & durability is what they stand for and they deliver for the DIY person or professional house painter. Nothing worse than having bristles from your brush falling onto walls mid paint job. Or junk from your roller that you need to go back pick off your freshly painted walls. Leaving it to feel like sand paper.

Frog Tape is the new love of my life. …Not lying here! Making my obsessive/compulsive mission of painting crisp lines an easy reality. This tape is special because it has a gel like substance that one you get slightly wet forms a literal seal. The first pass on it with a somewhat lightly loaded brush, just enough liquid to activate the seal, and then apply enough to cover underneath color. This frogtape painting tape product comes in several adhesive levels. So a different tape for more sensitive areas. No DIY project should be with out this.
